Hilarie's Furry Friends Mobile Pet Spa is under the direction of Spa Technician and Animal Care Specialist, Hilarie Faria.  Hilarie grew up in West Orange, NJ, and moved to South Florida to continue her education.  She has operated her own training and boarding kennel and cattery that also offered grooming services.  She has taught basic and advanced obedience, as well as, protection training and was responsible for teaching drug and bomb K9s for Desert Storm.  She is well versed in animal husbandry and behavior modification.  Years of experience as a veterianary technician have added to an extensive knowledge of animal anatomy and a true insight into the health issues all pets have.  She was also, co-owner of a full service pet store and grooming salon.  In 1994, Hilarie won the Broward County Small Business Owner Award for Excellence.

She has bred several breeds of dogs such as Poodles (all three sizes), Bouviers, and Shih tzus, as well as, C.F.A cats including Persians, Himalayans and Scottish Folds.  She also has an extensive knowledge of birds, reptiles, small animals, exotics and fresh and salt water fish.

In 1999, Hilarie moved back to New Jersey and spent the next 6.5 years as the salon manager for the Petsmart in Bridgewater.  Within the space of a few short years, she and her salon team grew the business to be the most successful in Petsmart's history and the #1 shop in the entire country!! (over 700 shops).  She has won many awards from Petsmart for Quality, Safety and Excellence in Customer Service.  Hilarie enjoys a wonderful and well deserved reputation and comes highly recommended by veterinarians and pleased clients, alike.

Hilarie is a firm believer in positive reinforcement and although, she is not a veterinarian, she considers it a part of her responsibility as a friend and caregiver to your pet, to advise you of any abnormalities or inconsistencies she finds.  She is certified in Animal CPR and First Aid and Pet Nutrition and has a special interest in the healing aspects of pet massage and the benefits of aromatherapy.  Hilarie's goal is to join forces with you and your veterinarian to become an intergral part of your friend's lifetime care.  Her basic grooming philosophy is to "take the path of least resistance".  Whatever is easier and less stressful for our friend.  Do no harm and make it fun!

When Hilarie moved back to NJ, in 1999, it was to marry a great guy named Don, who is also an animal lover!  He is very supportive in the behind the scenes aspects of Furry Friends.  Together, they share a cute little house in Woodbridge Township with their family which consits of:  Misty( a 9 yr old Yorkie), Sparky(a 3 yr old Bichon) and Chloe (a 3 yr old Jack Russel/Poodle mix), Emma, (a 13 yr old Himalayan cat), 2 lizards and 5 millipedes. Hilarie and Don's entire family has been adopted from rescue groups and private people.
